The war had started over a decade ago. No one was entirely clear why it started. Obviously, Karl and Tracy closing down their international branches was the kicker, but the war'd been coming for a while. The question was, why had Karl and Tracy done it? Most assumed it was just because of the costs of upkeep on the international branches, but with the amount of money the people in the other countries were willing to pay for their technology, it was a pretty slim chance that was true.
